Oh yea, and we also tried some Korean Black Raspberry wine with dinner that was hellza good. Highly recommended. Think I need to lie down right now...
Another plus is that it is probably one of the most non-messy fruits out there. Charm and I did some brainstorming-- and it probably compares to the banana on that front.
Two thumbs up! There's nothing scary about this dragon (except maybe the price-- it's not the cheapest thing on the produce stand).
These fruits grow on cactus and have very dangerous thorns. Luckily, the thorns are removed by the time they reach the store. Another cool tidbit I looked up about these fruits is that they are a good natural cure for hangovers. I'll have to keep that in mind.
You can't eat the skin of these fruits, but it comes up really easily with a single knife slit. The fruit is very flavorful. Kind of tasted like a cross of watermelon, kiwi, strawberry, pears and honeydew to me. The only difference is that there are tons of little seeds. The seeds definitely prolong the eating process but to me it's worth it once in a while.
I think I'm going to start trying more new fruits.
Time did a really cool photo essay recently. What the world eats. Comparing 15 families from around the world and what they eat on a regular basis. Really goes to show how wasteful and unhealthy certain cultures are (without naming any names).
I actually just had a rootbeer float to top off an excellent (albeit late) dinner at TWO. My first time here since it changed over from Hawthorne Lane. Still really good food.
