The other day, Steve posted some clips from this movie I never saw, Idiocracy. I actually had it on my Netflix queueat position 40 or something, but the clips were hilarious and in need of a good comedy, I pushed it up to the top position. Well, we received it today and got a chance to watch it already.
OMG that movie was frickin' hillarious if you're just in the mood for an off-the-wall comedy. At times it seems stupid and you don't know why you're watching it -- but I still am putting it on my favorite comedy list. Just because it totally succeeded at making me laugh my knockers off.
But I'll also be the first to admit I was totally wrong. This movie was beautiful. I'd actually put it in my top 10 movies list. Thought it had a wonderful screenplay, and just a wonderful message. For those of you who don't know, it's basically the story of how the story of Peter Pan came to be.
Definitely recommended. But be forewarned, it's definitely a kleenex flick.
Really thought it was a great movie. I love original story lines and seeing Will Ferrell in a different role is always interesting. Think I'm also a Maggie Gyllenhaal fan now, too.
Just came back from a fun evening at the Castro Theater. We saw West Side Story on the big screen, as a crazy, interactive sing-a-long.
I've heard about these sing-a-long movies for the longest time but never had the opportunity to actually go. West Side Story is my Mom's (Barbie) favorite movie so Charm and I thought it'd be fun to all go together.
It was definitely a blast. I never realized how fun watching the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks could be. Everybody whistling, snapping, and bonking people on the head with inflatable bats. Laughing at lyrics from another era (and catching some dirty metaphors) made for quite a good time.
I'd definitely recommend these sing-a-long events! So much fun.
Luckily, Charm and I got a chance to see this movie last night, the first night it opened in San Franisco. Tickets were a hot commodity -- bought them online at about 1pm, and the first show that wasn't sold out was the 10:20 show.
Wow, the movie was incredible though. I considered myself to know a lot about the global warming issue in the past and still feel my eyes were totally opened for the first time. I really think everyone should see this movie. It's an issue we can't ignore or push off any more.
Just came back from Gen Art's screening of B13, which was one of the craziest action movies I've seen in a while. It was made in France (2004) and stars David Belle. For those that don't know, Belle was the inventor of parkour, basically an amazing cross of gymnastics and martial arts. Huge thumbs up to this film!
